Attukal Pongala (Malayalam: ആറ്റുകാല് പൊങ്കാല) is the annual day festival of Attukal Bhagavathy temple, which is one of the famous temples in South India. This temple is located in Thiruvananthapuram/Trivandrum City, Capital of Kerala State, INDIA. Here ten days annual festival is celebrated in the month of February/March every year. This year the festival is held on February 28 to March 8. Pongala festival is held on March 7, 2012. On the day of Pongala, people prepare varieties of dishes like Jaggery Payasam (Pongala), Therali appam, Milk Payasam, Mandaputtu, Boiled Green Gram to dedicate Attukal Devi. Attukal Pongala has Guinness World Record for largest number of women participating in annual gathering.
